Delaware’s Appeal Gets Denied But Revenues are Up

Delaware has long since been hoping for their gambling industry to be like that of Las Vegas’, but it seems that fate or, the courts, for that matter, do not see eye-to-eye with what Delaware wants as the State was yet again dealt with a big blow when the federal appeals court denied their request for an appeal.

Four states were given exemptions under the 1992 Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, and these were Las Vegas, Montana, Oregon, and Delaware. Read more

Sports Betting Integral to the Integrity of Games

It is all thanks to an investigative report done by ESPN because it shows that sports betting is, indeed, integral to the integrity of major sports leagues and their games.  Not only does this report says that sports betting prevents fixes, but it also prevents point-shaving incidents.  It is sad though that these major sports leagues and organizations still continue to fight the legalization of sports betting and maintain that it is sports betting that taint the integrity of their games. “NCAA Championships are not sanctioned in Betting States”, says NCAA

It is definitely bad news for NCCA sports fans in Delaware, Montana, Nevada as well as Oregon.  Effective last Thursday, NCCA will no longer allow any sports championships in states that specifically permit single betting.  However, it does not include states that permits parlay betting, lottery tickets or even sports betting.

What Happened?

The issue started with a contention raised by professional sports leagues and the NCAA which concerns the State of Delaware’s single sports betting proposal.  The effort to halt Delaware’s plan to start NCAA sports betting came one day and the argument against this issue continues. Read more
